Boy, oh boy! It has been a while since I was able to talk to you guys. But I want you to know that I’ve had a time, keeping up with my friend Junior Rabbit. He’s on the go right now. I have to find out where he is because he’s been traveling. You’ll find out, too, in a couple of months where his first adventure will be.
Now remember guys, it’s Summer and there’s so much fun to be had. You’ll be visiting friends in different states, going to the park and amusements parks, having barbeques, swimming, bike riding, scooter riding and so much more.
Just don’t forget that while you’re having all of that fun, there’s a world of fun to be had at the Library. At the Library you can get a book about origami and how to make figures, you can even become the hero in a far away country. You can help others who don’t have what you have. You know that your little brothers and sisters and you little cousins and nieces and nephews will love to have you read Junior Rabbit to them and even Loony the Loon to them. They will laugh at the funny sounds you make while they imagine the story you are reading to them. So, let’s be sure that reading a book a day is on our list of fun things to do this Summer.
Talk to you later! I’m on my way to a family reunion!
I have to share with you all about my latest book signing that I did in March. It was so much fun. There were a lot of children and their parents there at the book signing and I sold some of my book to some very excited kids. You may not think that in March someone would buy a book about Christmas, but they did. I was so very happy. too.
Boy! I just had a thought? If you continue doing wonderfully in school, reading and learning all you can, I am sure that I will see your names on some books that you’ve written, too. That’s exciting. In fact I know that you all will write books and that you’ll share them with others. Your books don’t have to be like mine, but they have to come from your heart, remember that. One day, I’ll be able to come to your book signing and buy a specially autographed copy of your book. I am looking forward to that. Until next time remember: READING OPENS UP THE WORLD TO YOU!
It’s me, Jenny! WHEW! It has been a whirlwind of activity with me for the last few months. I mean, I really missed you guys. But today, I am glad to say that I can catch up with all of you and find out what you are doing.
I sure hope school is going well. Can you believe that there are only about 4 or 5 weeks left until Summer vacation? Okay. I can hear a lot of you shouting YAYYYYY!! And there is nothing wrong with wishing for Summer vacation. Besides you all deserve it. You’ve worked so hard in school getting those A’s and B’s. So you deserve a break.
I just want you to remember one thing: While you are planning your summer always make plans to read 20 minutes a day. Yep, read every day. And please if you have little brothers and sisters or little nieces and nephews or just little kids in the neighborhood, please get a book and read to them, as well. Babies even love to hear your voices as you read Dr. Seuss’ Green Eggs and Ham or my books, A Surprise for Junior, Loony the Loon and the Littered Lake or Junior Rabbit Learns About Christmas. Believe me guys, when you read you learn about this world and all the wonderful things in it.
Oops, I gotta go. I am writing another book to be published later this year. I sure hope you guys will read my books. Talk to you later,
Well guys, it has been such a whirlwind of events and activities for me. But we are almost four whole weeks into the new year and I am so glad!
Got a few questions:
Have you continued to read and visit the library?
Have you become a true friend to a special needs student at your school?
Is your GPA – grade point average a “B” or better?
Are you reading to your little brother, sister, cousin, niece or nephew?
You gotta keep reading if you want to open up the world for yourself.
Special needs kids are just people like you and me. They love friends and laughing just like you do. Please sit with them in class and even at lunch.
It doesn’t make any sense to go to school, do class work, have homework, projects, presentations and do speeches to get any grade below a “B”. You were made by God, and a “C” is just average. Blah! You are so much more than average!
If you read to the little kids in your life, you’ll help them to learn to read better and you’ll see that they, too, will be lovers of books.
So guys, remember that I am rooting for you. I want to hear from you, too. Besides my own books, here are a couple of book to read to kids. Talk to you later.
How’s the first week of school going? Getting used to carrying backpacks again and sitting in class learning? I sure hope so.
Now remember, school is the place that prepares you for the great accomplishments you will do in your life. Accomplishments like being the first astronaut to reach the planet Mars; coming up with the cure for all kinds of diseases, becoming leaders in the world, inventing things to make life better for so many other people. So, take school seriously while still having fun. Pick up your books and tablets and read and do your assignments and you’ll find out that when you get to college, your study habits will be so good.
Just think, your education will further open up a world of possibilities for you. So, keep swinging at those lessons, papers, homework assignments and tests. The world is at your fingertips.
I’ve been talking a lot about reading to all of you. But let’s plan a reading party. That’s when we get together and all have a book to read or several books to read. We’ll sit around and enjoy our book and then after a time, we’ll take a break, get some refreshments like apple slices and peanut butter or fruit cups or yoghurt or even granola bars. (Boy, I’m getting hungry!) When we are having our refreshments, we can take turns and tell the other party goers what our book was about. See, I told you that reading really rocks! LET’S READING PARTY! The Summer will soon be over!
Here are two of my books that I wrote. Mom and Dad can get them on Amazon.com
Boy, oh boy! The Library is a fun place to spend a day. Why they have hundreds of books for toddlers, and elementary school students, teens and adults. I went there a couple of days myself and I got a book and went into the reading room. There were so many kids and adults just sitting around reading. They have a computer room, where you can get on the computer and do lots of things, like check your email and write letters and you can print them out.
They even have some authors who wrote children’s books come and sit with the kids on certain days and read the books they written and have a good fun talk with the kids. I had the chance to go and read my book to some librarians one day. I was so excited! If you are looking for answers to some questions you need answered, go to the library and ask the librarians to help you out. They are the best at helping anyone find what they need.
Ask Mom and Dad to make it part of your summer vacation to take a trip to the library so you can enjoy all the music, books, movies and other fun activities they have. See you there. Remember, reading opens the world up to you. Talk to you later.
