BULLYING IS FOR LOSERS!

Hi Guys,

Wow, it’s been a fun Summer so far and I sure hope that it’s been a fun summer for you, too.  I want to tell you something that really bothers me.  I see  many of you with your cell phones and you’re having so much fun watching funny things on it, and you’re also texting back and forth to  your friends and family and that’s great.  But make sure that the things you’re texting or watching are good things and not bad or hurtful things.  Remember, words hurt.  Never let anyone make you feel bad about yourself because they are a bully!  Bullies don’t think about the fact they are hurting people.  They just think that they can hurt others and get away with it.  Well, if someone who is supposed to be your friend begins to push you around or they text mean and unkind words to you, tell your mom and dad about it first and then make up your mind that the person isn’t really your friend. Be brave and let them know you are not afraid and that you will NOT let them treat you bad or say and text ugly things to you. You were made by God and God makes good everything.  Bullying is for losers and you are not a loser.  Just remember to be kind and have  more fun this Summer, too.  Talk to you later.  JENNY

JUNIOR RABBIT SAYS “READING OPENS THE WORLD UP TO YOU”

Junior Rabbit full page

Hi guys, I’m Junior Rabbit, Jenny friend.  I do a lot of things with my friends.  We play soccer, tag, tell each other stories and other things.  We do all of our activities outside.  But there is one thing that I really want to share with you that you can do outside or inside:  YOU CAN READ!

Now just before you say that reading isn’t fun, think about this. When you read you can enter right into the story that you are reading.  You can be on the sidelines looking at the story as it unfolds, or you can be the one telling the story as you read, you can even become a participant in the story! What I am saying is that you can see yourself  riding on the stagecoach as it crosses the country to take you west to cattle country.  Why  you can even hide out on a ship as it crosses the ocean to go to a distant land.  You can imagine yourself helping to rescue someone from danger in the pages of a book. You can be the king or the princess or the brave soldier who slays a dragon and saves a village!  Boy, oh boy, when you read the world opens up to you. So, make sure to visit the world this summer in the pages of a book at your local library.

The book that I’m reading now is about my friend Loony.  He’s having a time helping our other friends out because people have put so much garbage in the lake where they all live.  Oh, gotta go guys, Loony needs my help.

DON’T MAKE FUN OF THINGS PEOPLE CAN’T HELP!

Hi Guys,

I have something that is on my mind and I want to tell you how I feel.  But first, look at the picture here of people who are really special:

Animated image of deaf teen animated image of redheaded deaf manboywheelchair - motion

I consider the subject of those persons in our population who have special needs, very important.

Just because a person has a particular disability doesn’t mean that they can’t contribute something to society.  It also doesn’t mean that it should be “open season” for them to be bullied, talked about negatively, or laughed at.  If we see someone engaging in these types of negative behaviors toward a person with special needs, we should step up and do what we can to end the abuse because whether we believe it or not, the rest of us are just one car accident away from becoming handicapped, too.

We should put ourselves in the other person’s shoes and ask ourselves if we would want anyone to make fun of us or bully us.

God loves ALL of us and He made us all different.  All our fingerprints are different, but God loves us ALL the same.

So in conclusion, I’ll say:

DON’T MAKE FUN OF THINGS PEOPLE CAN’T HELP!

KIDS AND SPECIAL NEEDS

Hi Guys,

Well, I was a special education teacher for many years; and I had a great time on the radio this past Saturday! I was interviewed by the renowned author Parker J. Cole on her broadcast show, “The Parker J. Cole Show”.

I shared with her about special needs and making room for all people in church and anywhere else for those children and adults with special needs and I let them know that they are people just like anyone else.  You can listen to my interview with her by clicking the link below.

Until then, make sure you are having fun, keeping it simple by reading a book.

REMEMBERING THE BRAVE….CHILDREN

Hello guys, it’s me Jenny.  I was thinking about Memorial Day and all those who have protected us in America with their own lives.  Wow, I appreciate them and I really love them.  We can talk to each other and go places because of them.

I want you to look at the picture below.  It’s of some kids just like you.  They lived in 1865.  The one holding the flag is in the lead and they are honoring, saying ‘Thank You’ to some soldiers who died a long time ago.  Now, you know that kids in every age can be good patriots, too.  Just like you.  Ask  mom and dad about Memorial Day if you need to.  They’ll tell you that it’s a time when the entire country remembers men and women who fought in wars for our great country so that we can be free.  Do you want to honor them?  Then make it the best life you can and help others.  Talk to you soon.

DON’T FORGET TO REMEMBER WHAT YOU HAVE LEARNED!

Hi Guys,

Well, it won’t be long until the Summer vacation is here.  How many of you did great in school?  What I mean is how many of you got A’s and  B’s in  your classes.  I hope all of you did.  But I want to tell you something, please, please, please take time and get to the Library where  you can check out at least one book on let’s say, social studies and read it, so that you’ll be able to keep up when you get back in school.  Here’s a little quiz for you all.  If you need to, ask Mom and Dad or big brother or big sister to help you with it.  Send the answers back to me in the comment section below and I’ll check it for you.

  1. What city do  you live in?
  2. How old is the city that you live in? (you can find out this answer at the Library)
  3. What state do you live in?
  4. What county do you live in?
  5. Do you like the Library?

Don’t forget guys that one trip you should make is to the Library. child reading animated The Library has so many interesting things, too.  They have contests for those who read the most books on their book list.  They have different writers/authors come in and sign books for people.  Just don’t leave the library out of this Summer. Remember that a great time to read is when you have to stay in because of the rain.  “Keep it simple and read a book”.  Thanks guys.

Let’s keep it moving all Summer long!

Hi Guys,

Well, the weather is getting better and better and I just wanted to let all of you know that during the Summer is the best time for outdoor activities, because the days are longer in the Summer. Here’s a list of a few outdoor activities that you can do with you family.

Swimming – baseball – basketball –  bicycling –  soccer – kickball –  picnicking – camping out in the backyard.

Wow, all of these are really fun things you can do during the Summer that will keep you fit and trim. Now if you’re inside, that’s alright, too.  It’s just better to do other things than just playing video games on your phone or computer.  Things like:

Keep your room clean –  pick up your shoes – sweep the floors, wash dishes.

WAIT A MINUTE!

It sounds like I’m telling you to do housework.  Yes, I am.  One thing about helping around the house is that your mom and dad won’t be so tired and then when that is finished, guess what?  You can go outside and have a lot of fun.

This Summer, make sure that you make at least 5 trips to the Library.  Reading Rocks!

Hi guys,

Just as we have talked about littering, pollution, recycling and reading, I want you guys to know that in order for us to stay our healthiest, we have to do something, too—EXERCISE.  It’s nice to have a video game to play with, but that doesn’t get your body revving and in shape.  Here are some ways to play and have fun:

Soccer, football, basketball, walking, running/jogging, hoola-hooping, throwing a ball, riding your bike, swimming.  All of this keeps you in great shape, plus drink lots of water.

Oh my goodness!  I gotta get up now and go walking myself.  Talk to you real soon.  Look at the pictures  of other kids exercising while they are having fun!
