Here is a picure of Ruby Bridges. She is just a little girl on the way to school. She is being guarded by federal officers, because she is the first little African American girl to attend an all white elementary school in the American South. She was hated by many people because they didn’t want her in their white schools.
Ruby Bridges was a little girl who made a difference in this great country of our. You may not have to be concerned with where you go to school, but like Ruby Bridges you can make a difference wherever you can. One good way is to first of all get the best education and grades you can. That always helps when you want to make a big difference in the lives of those you love. Oh, yes and remember, reading is the best way to learn and get knowledge. Black History month is great, yes, but Black History is good everyday of the year. Just pick up the book that was written about Ruby Bridges for starters.
